We’re Josh & Zach — The Brothers Behind the Farm

Two brothers, five acres, eight seasons of growing food and making sauce in the Sierra foothills.

Home / Our Story

We left the hard Wisconsin winters for the foothills of Calaveras County back in 2015, with a plan to grow good food and make hot sauce worth driving for. We set up our first market table in Murphys in 2019 — nervous, with a handful of bottles and big ideas.

Eight market seasons in, it’s still just the two of us doing the growing, the fermenting, and the bottling. 2025 was our best season yet — three markets and a lot learned the hard way.

For our 8th market season we’re growing more, fermenting more, and finally putting the whole farm online. Thanks for being part of it.

Sauce is the front door to the whole farm. Behind these five bottles is a 75-bed, five-acre farm in the Sierra foothills. See how it’s made or shop the sauces.
